Swampscott Library Suspends Programs Amid Coronavirus Spike

SWAMPSCOTT, MA — The coronavirus spike has forced the suspension of all in-person programs at the Swampscott Public Library at least through the end of January. The library building will still be open to the public for browsing, but weekly programs will either be moved online or put on hiatus for the month. Due to the current surge all in person programs are postponed. The library is still open for browsing with normal hours. pic.twitter.com/xrSdSeC0pD— Swampscott Library (@swampscottlibry) January 5, 2022 A weekly pop-up library for Swampscott seniors will also soon open at the Senior Center starting Jan. 25. The pop-up library will be open weekly from 10 a.m. to noon with a selection of books available to borrow or browse. They will also register library cards on site. The Senior Center will also provide transportation for those who want to go to the full library on Mondays from 10:30 a.m. to 1 p.m. There will be a $2 fee each way for this service. Pre-registration is required for the transportation service and can be arranged by calling the Senior Center at 781-596-8866.
