SALEM, MA — Wednesday's rain dealt another blow to those looking for a free, coronavirus test on the North Shore. The city said early Wednesday that the state's "Stop the Spread" drive-thru test site at Salem High School would not operate later that day. The outdoor site is often closed in bad weather because getting the tests wet can make the results inaccurate. As residents look for testing options coming off the holiday vacation, more trouble could be on the way for the site on Friday when up to 8 inches of snow is forecast for Eastern Massachusetts. The city had said on Tuesday that the site will also be closed if the line of traffic entering the site extends onto Wilson Street and interferes too greatly with traffic flow through the area.
