Description
Enjoy a delicious four course wine pairing dinner featuring Kent Rasmussen wines from Napa County. After over thirty years of making wine, Kent Rasmussen Winery is as busy as ever and our passion remains as strong as ever. When the history of Napa County's winemaking is rewritten many years from now, Kent Rasmussen will certainly be included. His Pinot Noirs are some of the best in the state. His love of the land and the desire to make the very best wines are captured in each and every bottle. The menu is to be announced shortly. 1st Course Wine: Kent Rasmussen White Blend This tiny 80 case production is a more-or-less equal blend of Sauvignon Blanc, Muscat and Grenache, all from the Napa Valley. The wine started as three one-barrel projects. All three wines were really nice on their own. The Sauvignon Blanc was a classic Napa Valley SB - full of grass and mineral notes. The Muscat was very light in character. I had harvested the Muscat quite early as I wanted to make a Vino Verde style wine. The fruit was extremely clean and delicate with a very high acidity in the mouth. The Grenache was the real odd-ball. I had planned to make a Grenache Rose, and had whole-cluster pressed some juice from a larger Grenache Red fermentation. After pressing, the juice had absolutely NO color....so much for Rose. All three lots were fermented very cold at about 50 degrees in stainless barrels. 2nd Course Wine: Kent Rasmussen Pinot Noir 100% Our cellar treatment was simple and this wine is indeed very complex! Blackberry rose and blueberry are the most dominant notes with flavors of oak and a rich mouth feel. 3rd Course Wine: Kent Rasmussen Cabernet 232 production On the palate, this wine offers the quintessential Cabernet panoply of flavors: amazingly deep and complex layers of black currant, black cherry, plum and dark chocolate, all supported by a tannic foundation. 4th Course Wine: Ramsay Merlot The 2018 Ramsay Merlot is a product of this constant search for perfect grapes. It is big, lush, full of that lovely Merlot fruitiness. It has succulent mouthfeel and, quite simply, is a lovely wine. At Bodacious, we specialize in doing the little things, in a big way!
