District leaders announced the cancellation of classes on Wednesday, citing forecasts that predicted up to fifteen inches of snowfall in Erie County. Students and staff will not be required to work remotely during the snow day. (wyrk.com)Workers at the Starbucks on Elmwood Avenue walked out Wednesday to protest what they viewed as unsafe COVID-19 levels. One of the protestors said that about one-third of the location's workers are currently in self-isolation due to the virus, leaving the store short-staffed. Wednesday's protest was the latest showdown between the Buffalo workers and the massive coffee chain, which saw the Elmwood store become the company's first unionized location in the United States just last month. Echevarria was arraigned Tuesday for the incident that occurred last month at a church on Lafayette Avenue. Echevarria faces a maximum of seven years behind bars if he is convicted of the felony charge.
