MONTGOMERY COUNTY, MD — Following a two-hour delay decision made early Wednesday morning, Montgomery County Public Schools announced that 90 of its bus routes are without drivers for Jan. 5.
The shortage was caused by an unexpected number of drivers calling out sick, and the district recommended that kids along those routes either carpool with other students or walk in groups.
"We apologize for this inconvenience and understand the difficulty this causes for families," the district said in the announcement. "Given these circumstances today we are working to better understand the problem and will provide further communication to let families know how we will solve this issue."
