STOMP's Morristown Shows Postponed 1 Year Due To COVID Concerns

MORRISTOWN, NJ — STOMP halted its tour, including shows in Morristown, because of COVID-19 concerns. The percussion group had shows scheduled for Friday and Saturday at the Mayo Performing Arts Center. The theater's box office will reach out to ticket holders about their options. The venue rescheduled the shows for Jan. 6-7, 2023, and will relaunch the shows in the future. Theaters such as the Mayo Performing Arts Center have faced financial obstacles throughout the pandemic because of closures and capacity requirements. MPAC reopened September 2020 at limited capacity. The venue returned to full-capacity shows last September. All patrons 12 and older attending a performance must show proof of full vaccination or a recent negative test — a PCR or rapid antigen test administered by a medical professional or pharmacy. Mayor Tim Dougherty instituted a mask mandate Dec. 24 by executive order. The mandate applies to all Morristown businesses and venues open to the public.
