Press release from Travis County Sheriff's Office: December 31, 2021 Injury to a Disabled Person Case Ruled Homicide On June 10, 2021, deputies responded to a memory care facility in the 11100 block of Circle Dr. The incident involved an elderly woman who was assaulted by her 79-year-old roommate. MARY WYNN, 93 of Austin, TX sustained injuries and was hospitalized. Wynn died August 11, 2021 (at that time, living at a different care facility). On December 1, 2021, TCSO was notified by the Travis County Medical Examiner's Office that their investigation ruled the death a homicide because Wynn died of injuries sustained during the assault on June 10, 2021. TCSO has been working closely with the Travis County District Attorney's Office throughout the investigation and no charges will be filed.
