Description
HACKETTSTOWN, NJ — A house on Sharp Street caught fire on Tuesday night at about 11:25 p.m., after a man fell asleep with a cigarette in his hand, according to the Hackettstown Police Department.
Sgt. Darren Tynan, a spokesperson for the department, said the unidentified man and another person living there, initially believed they had extinguished the fire to the man's mattress.
However, when responding officers arrived to the home, which Tynan said is uninhabitable, flames were coming from above a second story window.
