Employer Name: Gethsemane Lutheran Church Location: 409 East Baldwin Street, Hackettstown, NJ Job Summary: Perform administrative and clerical duties for the Pastor and Preschool Director Duties and Responsibilities Include: Answering phones for church and preschool, providing basic information, taking accurate messages and forwarding to the appropriate person in an efficient and timely manner. Prepare correspondence, memos and reports in the proper format for church functions such as programs, bulletins, weekly congregation newsletters and preschool functions Assist in scheduling appointments for the Pastor Periodic outgoing mail items i.e. new and prospective member correspondence, letters to shut-ins, event programs and preschool parent letters Coordinates calls to sick and shut-in members Distribute or file incoming mail as appropriate Monitor church email and respond or forward as appropriate Inventory and order office supplies using church accounts Order materials for worship services, preschool, choir, baptismal supplies etc. as needed or directed Collect time sheets from staff and forward via email to Treasurer Deposit preschool tuition checks monthly at Local Hackettstown bank. Create, post and distribute yearly and monthly church and preschool calendars Maintain church and preschool records and forms Skills Required: Handle all assignments and duties with appropriate confidentiality Typing on computerGood oral and written communication skillsInternet literateMicrosoft Office, Word and Excel programsEmail using distribution lists and with or without attachmentsAttention to detail This is a part-time position, approximately 16-24 hours per week, less when preschool is out of session. Compensation is hourly ($15 starting) with annual review. Work hours are 8am-12pm or so. There is no provision for remote work.
