Description

Her name is HeiHei (my kids named her after the chicken in Moana). She's a very sweet bird that loves to play and is very affectionate. We don't have any issues with her being aggressive around people. She's very social. If you have a guest over, they should be prepared to have HeiHei make a b-line for their shoulder to say hi and check them out. :-) She likes to sing along with music at times, and has learned to mimic a few sounds. I haven't heard her speak any words. She knows her name and will respond to it. She prefers to be out of her cage most of the time, but will go back in there to eat and sleep. She is very affectionate and craves attention every day. Her favorite thing to do is to perch in the palm of your hand so you can use your thumb to rub her cheeks and neck. She can do that for hours. She will often move from one family member to the next once someone tires of petting her. She also loves being talked to and being told she's pretty. We haven't had her around any other birds, so not able to say how well she may play with others. We purchased her from Inca's Secret Parrot & Bird store in Kent when she was a baby. They kept her for the first few months so she could go through her vaccinations and they could confirm her gender. After that, she has been home with us. It breaks my heart to rehome her, but unfortunately, one of my kids who has ASD seems to be having a hard time with the parrot noises she makes from time to time. We have a lot of big windows in our house and we are adjacent to vacant lot that attracts a lot of animals. From time to time she will sound the alarm if she see's something she decides may be a threat. This causes my 5 year old to cry and I can see she is starting to carry anxiety around the house when she's aware HeiHei is in the same room as her. As hard as it is to part with our beloved pet, it may be the best thing for my child at the moment. The other option would be to cage HeiHei more of the time, but she really doesn't like being stuck in her cage most of the time and will make little heart breaking crying noises when she wants out. The cage in the picture, as well as a travel cage will be included. Also, her food and toys will be included as well. There will be a rehoming fee. It is very important that she goes to a home that will allow her to fly and where she gets attention. I won't send her somewhere I don't think she will get that, so please let me know your level of interest and what kind of environment you will be providing. She's still got a long life ahead of her (probably 30+ years), so I'm really hoping to find a place where she will be able to spend the rest of her days as part of a family. She is available for pick up in the Mountlake Terrace area. We may also be able to bring her to you if that seems like a better option for everyone. Conure Parrot Green Cheek Bird
