Description

PLAINFIELD, IL — Positive COVID-19 cases are high among Plainfield School District 202 bus drivers, causing delays in transportation two days in a row, officials alerted families Wednesday evening. Attendance will remain in-person Thursday, according to a message from Tom Hernandez, the district's director of community relations. While staffing circumstances are expected to improve, he said families should continue to expect delays in busing. "Please also continue to expect and plan for less windy, but still very cold weather conditions," he said in a message to the community marked "urgent." Parents are also able to bring their children to school or look into other modes of transportation. "As always, a student missing work due to an excused absence will not be penalized as long as they complete the work assigned or missed," Hernandez said. "Please contact your student's teacher and/or building administration to get your student's school work." RELATED: District 202 Asks Parents For Patience Amid COVID-19 Regulations
