This position will work from 10:00AM-6:00PM Monday-Friday Ability to work overtime and weekend when required Job Summary and Mission The Facility Technician is responsible for assisting the Facility Supervisor in keeping the facility in good repair, safe, and operational through the utilization of a preventative maintenance and repair program. Must assist in coordinating maintenance and repair activities with the functions of other departments. Key Accountabilities Work with management on special projects concerning changes to the existing building and equipment. Repair duties: Painting, replacing light bulbs in fixtures, assembly of minor material handling equipment (carts, etc.), mounting of items such as shelves in offices and the DC, etc, Works closely with management on the planning of maintenance daily activities to reduce disruption to the DC. Maintain a clean and organized work area. Including workstations, desks, shops, and common areas. Support and demonstrate all company policies including, code of conduct, ethical behavior, OSHA compliance. Motivate, organize and encourage teamwork within the workforce to make sure set productivity targets are met Perform other duties as assigned. Knowledge, Skills & Abilities Ability to safely and effectively operate a wide variety of hand, power and shop tools. (drill, screwdriver, hammer, power saw, etc.) Ability to communicate effectively both verbally and in writing. Must be able to speak the English language in an understandable manner Ability to work well under pressure, analytical, decision making, and independent judgment skills and demonstrated leadership skills. Detail Oriented. Excellent Attendance Record. Ability to work overtime and weekend when required. Education and/or Experience Completion of High School Diploma or GED. Previous experience in a warehouse or similar working environment. Experience with maintenance duties and responsibilities. Working knowledge of warehouse operations and functions. Basic Computer skills. Order Picker/Forklift certified a Plus. Physical Demands Vision correctable to 20/20 Lifting up to 50 +lbs. Standing 75+% of the time Work Environment High energy environment includes a moderate amount of stress to complete assigned duties in a timely manner.
