COVID Testing Site Threatened With Shotgun, Dogs On South Blvd.

CHARLOTTE, NC — There was a scary incident at a Charlotte COVID-19 testing site, according to Charlotte-Mecklenburg Police. At 9:45 a.m., officers received a call stating that a man was pointing a gun at people at a StarMed testing site on the 6800 Block of South Boulevard. When they arrived, officers spoke with all parties involved and determined that no crime had occurred, although there was a disturbance. StarMed updates site closures on its website here. WCNC's reporter Chloe Leshner says it was a tense situation. "A neighbor came out with dogs and a gun and threatened the staff there. Police came and it was resolved, no one was hurt. They're assessing the future of that site," said Leshner. WBTV's Caroline Hicks reports it involved a shotgun. StarMed's Chief, tweeted the site will be halted indefinitely. "Out of an abundance of caution, we are suspending testing at our South Blvd location until we can secure National Guard or Armed Security Services," said Dobbins.
