MICHIGAN — Governor Gretchen Whitmer was isolating after her husband tested positive for COVID-19, according to a statement released from her office.
Whitmer tested negative with a rapid test and is waiting for results from a lab test, the statement said. She has not experienced any symptoms.
Whitmer will be isolating in a separate area of the house and steps have been taken to complete contact tracing to keep others safe, the statement said.
As Whitmer and her husband celebrated the holidays with immediate family members in Michigan, they took extra precautions to limit contact with others, the statement said.
Whitmer's entire family has been vaccinated and has received a booster dose, the statement said.
