We are saddened to have to give up our two year old Shiba Inu Oakley. He is a sweet dog and great with kids of all ages (as long as kids aren’t pulling or tugging on him too much) we have 1 year old twins and a 4 year old son who love him dearly. He has never once shown aggression towards them even when they have been rough before telling them to be easy or gentle with him. If you have children it’s important they are told and taught to be gentle while playing with any dog of course. Unfortunately Oakley cannot be with other male dogs as he will mark his territory in the house and outside (obviously outside is normal). He is ONLY aggressive with other dogs when food bowls are down or they try to go in his crate. He has been this way since he was brought home at 8 weeks from the breeder. He is neutered, up to date on ALL his shots, has proof of rabies vaccine and is a pure bred Shiba Inu. We can give you all of his papers if he is rehomed to you. He loves to play, cuddle and get some attention. He enjoys hikes and long walks. He’s a little over 20lbs. If you are interested we do require a $350 rehoming fee to be sure he will be going to a good home that can also afford to care for him. He has always eaten blue Buffalo brand dog food. Viewing the property he will be moving to is a must as well as vet references. If you rent we need proof from the landlord that it is okay to have small dogs. We will want to do a meet and greet with you and Oakley to make sure he will be happy and comfortable as well as you and the family. We are going to ask screening questions and will want any potential new family members to fill out an adoption application that I will send to you via email. This will of course be a process, and take a few weeks but if you are interested in Oakley, want and can provide for him…. It will be worth it. We are not at all in a major hurry to rush him away. We do love him and want him to have the best home he can have. If we feel at any point the home will not work we will notify you so you can carry on searching for your companion.
