Description
No, that wasn't a free dog. That was MY dog. The border collie with one eye that ran away on New Year's because of the fireworks. Someone picked her up. The best thing for someone to do would be to take that dog to the animal shelter, where she has been reported as lost, so that she can be returned home.
You can't work that dog, she's blind in one eye. You can't breed her. That's a real nice dog, but she's not YOURS. Maybe you're a person who likes the idea of living in a town where people don't steal other people's dogs. You probably don't want to be that person. You probably realize that people get very attached to their dogs, and that when they go missing, and are wearing tags and are easily identifiable, they would really like to get them back. You don't want to be the person with a stolen dog, one that is distinctive and needs a lot of exercise, and one that the owner is actively looking for.
You should probably just say that you found that dog, and like a good citizen who wants to live in a town where people don't steal each other's dogs, take her down to the animal shelter, so that she can be reunited with the person who went to a lot of trouble to get that dog. Because that's MY dog.
