Job description An equine ranch is looking for a ranch hand. This job will also involve other maintenance type work. The applicant must have horse and cow handling experience. No riding of horses ever. Ranch responsibilities include: Maintaining the welfare of herd and horses, ie, feeding, putting out bales, check on horses daily Operating farm equipment, fencing repair, welding, winter preparation, dragging arenas, watering arenas etc Daily cleaning and maintaining stalls. Ability to do handy work like carpentry, electrical, welding, and plumbing. Must be able to do heavy lifting of hay, feed bags, and equipment. This is a year round job that requires heavy labor in the Texas heat, rainstorms and freezing temperatures, so please be aware of that when applying for this job. You will be able to start early in the morning during the summer so you are finished by the early afternoon. Maintenance responsibilities include: General maintenance and labor such as mowing/trimming/landscaping lawn and garden, driveway maintenance and taking care of trash. The applicant must have a steady work history of holding jobs for a period of time longer than one year and preferably two years. We will be contacting your former employers so please be aware of that when you apply for this position. Authorization to work in the US required and must speak fluent English. Applicant will undergo a background check, including a driving background check. We will also request confirmation of prior employment and require professional references - in other words, former supervisors and co-workers. Work is required during the work week and includes Saturdays, Sundays, and holidays. Compensation will be dependent upon experience. Housing is negotiable.
