Building Porter

Description

We are looking for a friendly and hardworking individual to perform the following duties and responsibilities at our 76-unit residential property in Brooklyn: • Be responsible for all cleaning, recycling, and refuse collection throughout the entire building and property • Comply with building recycling obligations- including checking and sorting recycling items • Remove garbage and recycling and prepare for sanitation pick up • Clean all building common areas, outdoor spaces, remove snow, and prepare vacant apartments for occupancy • Perform minor repairs • Work with the Superintendent and Property Manager to ensure building is well maintained and resident requests are completed • Responsible for the physical maintenance and appearance of public areas, hallways, laundry areas, outdoor decks etc. • Maintain professional and courteous attitude towards residents Qualifications • 2-3 years of experience as a building Porter • Basic knowledge of janitorial procedues • Floor care knowledge • Physical requirements: walking and standing for long periods of time, climbing stairs, kneeling, pushing and pulling object, lifting and moving objects, repetitive bending and lifting
