Our relationships and community will be absolutely transformed when we learn how to listen to other people's stories and tell our own.
We were made to tell stories.
But why isn't storytelling a bigger part of our every day lives?
The two biggest excuses are probably "I'm bad at telling stories" and "even if I was good at it, I don't have any interesting stories to tell."
After HOW TO TELL YOUR STORIES you'll see that your life is full of fascinating stories if you know where to look, and you'll discover just how easy it is tell a story well.
This is not a workshop about performing. This is about how to tell stories around the dinner table or on a long car ride. It's about the incredible bonds that grow when we open up and share the funny/tragic/exciting/embarrassing stories that make us who we are.
Who is this for?
6th grade & up
We want this to be multigenerationsal. We love the thought of a 7th grader sitting next to 50 year old and the two of them swapping stories.
Besides that it is open to the general public!
If I come to this, are you going to make me do something weird and embarrassing?
No. At least I hope not. I don't know what you consider embarrassing. The majority of the workshop will take place at round tables where you'll be an invited to share (but not forced!) with those sitting around you.
As someone who normally hates "icebreaker games," I'm not going to make you get up and cluck like a chicken before we get started.
