Description

Join us to learn about this program designed to save the lives of Restaurant Workers in Delaware. According to the CDC, Delaware currently has the second highest death rate in the nation from drug overdoses, with 70% of these deaths involving opioids. Data from the Department of Health and Social Services show the restaurant industry is one of the hardest impacted in Delaware. Food service workers make up 10% of those who died from a opioid overdose. The Delaware Division of Public Health has launched a Restaurant Accolade Program to respond to this crisis. This program teaches Delaware restaurant staff how to respond to an opioid overdose, and can help restaurants create policies to better support employees and patrons struggling with substance use disorder. To learn more about this program please register for one of our Breakfast Launch Events. During our time together you will receive free training on how to respond to an overdose as well as the life saving medicine NARCAN.
