We are looking for a dependable person to work on our farm 40 hours a week.
You must be able to physically handle all the demands that go along with working on a farm. Duties will include lifting grain bags and hay bales that typically can weigh 50 or more pounds. There's plenty of shoveling, raking and pushing wheel barrels around. We split fire firewood in the winters and plant gardens in the spring. Take care of the animals year round. Work on a farm can be endless. Working on the farm is not for the weak.
In addition, you may be required to pitch in and help with events. We operate special events throughout the year at the farm. Our animals also travel to other locations. You should enjoy interacting with people especially children.
I believe the ideal candidate is a person who understands working on a farm with animals (and visitors) is more of a lifestyle rather than just a job. I truly believe farming and working with animals needs to be in your blood for this position with us to be successful.
If you are going to apply, be sure you are dependable, have reliable transportation and have a deep desire to work on a farm. You must be at least 18 years old and have a valid drivers license. Remember, this is a position that requires you to work outside in rain, heat, cold and snow. You have to be flexible in your scheduling and must be willing to work most weekends.
