Daws' Story:Until about a month and a half ago, two year old Daws Skager was just like any other two year old boy. He's a huge mama's boy, loves beach days with his big sister Lennon and his cousins, boating and fishing with dad, and sneaking snacks to his best four legged pal Ralph. Daws has always been a fiery little red head, full of spunk and pizazz, with a smile that could melt your heart. The nightmare began when Daws started suffering from what his parents and their pediatrician thought was a bout of severe constipation. Following doctors orders of administering Miralax and doing enamas, two trips to the ER and a few weeks later, he had not improved and after further testing on December 23rd they discovered Daws has a large brain tumor putting immense pressure on his pituitary gland. He remained in the hospital during this time, awaiting biopsy results and continuing to fight with all his might. On January 3rd, Daws was rushed into emergency surgery where they successfully removed about half of the tumor. At this point, there are still many unknowns as his doctors review his case and put together the best plan of action moving forward. What we do know is that Daws, his parents Stephanie and Scott Skager, and his big sister Lennon, need all the prayers, love, and support we can offer them during this extremely difficult time.
