Let’s celebrate AAPI Leadership and meet your 2021 ACEL honorees who are dedicated to making our community great! Come enjoy great company, networking, dinner, entertainment and more. This year we will be awarding the following distinctions: Corporate Leader of the Year, Entrepreneurial Leader of the Year, Education Leader of the Year, and Community Leader of the Year. Keynote Speaker: Rudy Pamintuan, Managing Director of Sherman Worldwide – Rudy has served as an appointee for President George W. Bush – advising the President on Asian American and Pacific Island issues as Chairman of the President’s Advisory Council on AAPI. As an appointee, Rudy was also tapped to promote KORUS (US-Korea Free Trade Agreement), CAFTA (Central America Free Trade Agreement) and traveled extensively representing the White House at a variety of high profile events. In 2008, Rudy served as a senior advisor to United Nations President Miguel d’Escoto Brockman. Rudy was appointed to serve on the US Delegation for the 2015 APEC (Asia-Pacific Economic Cooperation) Summit in Makati, Philippines. Recently, Rudy served on the President-Elect Donald J Trump Transition Team. Rudy currently serves on the Nevada Advisory Committee to the US Commission on Civil Rights. Corporate Leader of the Year: Larry Hofer, Cox Communications – As Vice President of People Services for Cox Communications’ Southwest Region, Larry Hofer provides leadership and strategic direction for human resources and development for over 4,800 employees in Arizona and Nevada. Over the years, Larry has helped transform the region, resulting in Cox receiving Best Places to Work recognition in both states. Entrepreneurial Leader of the Year: Cindy Louie, Hawker Street Market – Cindy Louie is a multi-disciplinary designer, community leader, entrepreneur and festival producer. She has founded several companies including, Go Studio Go (interior design firm for the hospitality industry), Hawker Street Market (a community based, multi-cultural food festival) and PHX Night Market (Arizona’s first large scale night market). In addition to being a serial entrepreneur, she has led several fundraising initiatives for the local community and helped launch many small food businesses. Education Leader of the Year: Dr. Clyne Namuo, Phoenix College – Dr. Clyne Namuo currently serves as the Interim President of Phoenix College. He worked collaboratively with internal and external stakeholders to develop a comprehensive academic plan that spawned a number of initiatives including an equity initiative, the creation of mediated classrooms, expansion of mobile technology across instruction, the creation of the construction trades institute, and more. Community Leader of the Year: Ethel Luzario, The 3000 Club – Ethel Luzario is the co-founder of The 3000 Club, a 501(c)3, food rescue, medical reclamation, and humanitarian outreach. The 3000 Club is US Based and an international chapter in the Philippines. Her community involvement in the past decade has been to bridge her Arizona and Asian connections through various missions to the Philippines. ACEL continues to provide its members with the tools and resources to further career advancements and to empower Asian Americans to become great leaders as well as reliable employees. In order to achieve our goals ACEL offers a diverse range of professional development programs on the local level. These may include series of panels, workshops and seminars. ACEL engages its membership in community activities, an ongoing mentorship program, cultural awareness and professional networking events. As a 501(c)(3) charitable organization we also seek to promote the active participation of Asian Americans in society through community service.
