Each year, baseball friends and fans of all ages gather at the St. Paul Baseball Old Timers' Hot Stove League annual fundraising banquet -- Each year, baseball friends and fans of all ages gather at the St. Paul Baseball Old Timers' Hot Stove League annual fundraising banquet -- to celebrate the great game of baseball, as well as relationships to which the game has led.  (Proceeds benefit local youth baseball and other charitable organizations.)   As part of the Minnesota Twins' Winter Caravan, the Old Timers' Banquet is truly "Where Old Friends Meet!"  Big league stars of today, yesterday and tomorrow are present, as well as sports celebrities of the Twin Cities ...  Being emceed by Minnesota Twins' radio play-by-play personality, Cory Provus, this year's head table will, once again, be loaded with notable speakers and guests, including past and present Twins front office staff.  Anticipated guests / speakers include  Dave St. Peter (President & CEO), Tom Kelly (retired Manager; current Special Assistant), Dan Gladden (radio play-by-play / analyst) Jerry Bell (retired President), Jim Rantz (retired Director of Minor Leagues) -- along with Derek Sharrer (Executive VP & General Manager of the St. Paul Saints Triple-A Affiliate), John Anderson (Head Coach of the Minnesota Gophers), St. Paul native Tim Tschida (retired American League umpire), and Carl Renalls (4th District American Legion Chaplain).  TC Bear might also make a guest appearance! This year's honored Older Timer, Pete Bradt, will also receive special recognition. In addition, the 2021 4th District American Legion MVP, Justin Hanson (Rosetown Rockets, Post 542) will be honored with the Klark-Killen Memorial Award.  A fabulous steak dinner will be served -- including tossed salad, rolls & butter, potato, vegetable, dessert, coffee. (A vegetarian option is available; if needed, please notify us ASAP through the CONTACT link at the bottom of this page, so that it can be arranged with the venue.) Batting Practice (social hour) begins:  5:30 pmGame Time (dinner and program):  7:00 pmA Silent Auction, featuring a wide-variety of sports memorabilia, will also be available as well.An audience Question & Answer session -- along with a door-prize drawing -- will conclude the evening.  All attendees may enter the FREE door-prize drawing at the registration table in the lobby upon arrival.Please join us for this great evening, in celebration of America's game! FAQs Due to Covid-19, are there special protocols? For your own protection and that of others, it is HIGHLY RECOMMENDED that all attendees wear a mask whenever possible (i.e., except while eating / drinking) and that guests be fully vaccinated, with a booster. If you are purchasing less than eight tickets, depending upon total registered attendance, dinner tables are anticipated to be set for eight guests each -- which will include members who are not in your own party. If possible, tables will be set for fewer than eight guests. Are there ID or minimum age requirements to enter the event? This is an event for ALL ages. (A separate children's meal option / ticket is not available, however.)    A cash bar, serving alcoholic beverages, will be available for adults with proper ID.  Please remember to drink responsibly!  What about parking options at the event? Free lot parking is available on-site, as well as street parking.  Enter the lot -- and the Event Center main doors -- from Labore Road (turn south on Labore Road, from County Road E.) What's the refund policy?  Is my registration fee or ticket transferrable? While no refunds can be issued, physical tickets may be physically transferred / given to another person, should you be unable to attend.  (If you receive your ticket from another person who ordered a ticket for themselves on-line and then cannot attend, please make sure to check-in at the reception desk, to indicate the name of the guest that you are replacing.)   Is it ok if the name on my ticket or registration isn't my own name? Yes.  If someone ordered multiple tickets as part of their order (and included you as part of their order), that person's name will be printed on all of the tickets that he or she ordered.     Should I bring my printed ticket to the event? Yes.  The Baseball Old Timers Hot Stove League is a charitable organization, originally founded on January 6, 1939 -- by 14 members of the New York Yankee's farm system -- who lived in St. Paul and wanted to keep their interest in baseball alive during the off-season. They held their meetings at the Nickel Joint on Blair Avenue in St. Paul -- and the club still meets there today!Membership is open to anyone who has a love of the great American past-time -- or connection to the game in some way (e.g., current or former amateur / professional player; manager, coach, team administrator, scorekeeper, supporter; or simply just a fan!)  For info on joining the Old Timers, please see our web page: www.tricitybaseball.org/oldtimers.htm !
