Following each census, new maps are drawn to adjust for changing populations. Tewksbury's population grew by 2,381 people from 2010 to 2020, resulting in 31,342 residents in the 2020 census. The town shared finalized maps Monday showing the new precinct boundaries and legislative districts. There was no change to the town's state Senate or U.S. House district, but new lines were drawn for voting precincts and the state House. The town's eight precincts have been renumbered 1-8, rather than 1, 1A, 2, 2A, 3, 3A, 4 and 4A. The boundaries have shifted slightly, as shown on this map. The precincts will vote at the following locations: 1 & 2: Senior Center, 175 Chandler St.3 & 4: Recreation Center, 286 Livingston St.5 & 6: Town Hall, 1009 Main St.7 & 8: Library, 300 Chandler St.The biggest change for Tewksbury is the state House map, which drew criticism from town officials.
