Description
We are looking for custodial candidates who will perform cleaning functions in assigned areas, following established schedules and using prescribed methods. The ideal employee will be dependable, reliable and detail-oriented. ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS: -Dust horizontal surfaces that collect dust -Empty wastebaskets and remove trash -Damp wipe clean all furniture, removing fingerprints and foreign particles and polish -Clean and polish metal and porcelain fixtures in restrooms -Dry mop and sanitize floors of rooms and offices -Spot Clean walls and windows -Sanitize restrooms, showers, mirrors, and all other required fixtures -Assist in cleaning of emergency spills as observed, or upon request -Maintain and clean assigned equipment, building and fixtures -Keep work cart and equipment neat and clean. -Attend meetings and training sessions as requested -Sign out key(s) at the beginning of the day and back in at the close of day -Exhibit and promote excellent customer service, attitude and skills -Maintain a clean, customer friendly environment in the buildings -Sustain the highest personal appearance standards according to company guidelines -Perform other job-related duties as assigned MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS Education and Experience -High School Diploma or GED preferred -One (1) year custodial or janitorial experience KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES Some knowledge of: -Contract requirements to insure compliance -Environmental sanitation functions -Cleaning and sanitizing agents use to prevent/control the spread of infections Skill in: -Cleaning techniques -Written and oral communication -Employee motivation Ability to: -Frequently lift 1 - 5 pounds -Occasionally lift up to 40 - 50 pounds -Operate all cleaning machinery and equipment -Moderate manual dexterity -Stand and walk (100%) -Climb a 3 ft. and sometimes 6 ft. ladder (10%) -Turn, reach, stoop, and crouch (40%) while performing tasks such as scouring, wet dusting, and cleaning -Push and pull wet and/or dry mops -Lift and carry cleaning equipment and materials -Communicate effectively -Maintain effective working relationships -Understand and absorb and new work methods -Prepare and maintain records, files and reports -Recommend to management changes needed to reach the desired quality of service. Schedule: Monday - Friday, 5:00 p.m. - 9:00 p.m.
