NORTHPORT, NY — Robin and Misha, a pair of 5-month-old brothers, are the Northport Cat Rescue Association's Kittens of the Week. Robin and Misha were found alone in the woods with their brother by a lady who fed the three siblings and called the Northport Cat Rescue Association for help, said Lora Wild, a volunteer with the rescue. Robin and Misha's brother got adopted, leaving the two of them waiting for a home of their own. Robin is grey, gentle, and shy, according to Wild. "He loves to explore and observe all that's going around him," she said. "With a little encouragement, he loves to play and is a purring machine when pet." Robin (Courtesy of Northport Cat Rescue Association) Misha is also a little shy, but he is very sweet and loves to know what's going on around him. He lights up when there is action around him. Both he and Robin get along well with other cats. "They have been in our habitats for a while now and perhaps because they are on the timid side, have been overlooked," Wild said. "We love when visitors come and visit our kittens and cats, but we have noticed Misha and Robin rarely get the attention they so deserve. To know them though, you can see the glimmer in their eyes when someone speaks gently to them through the doors of their habitat." Wild said all they need is a chance to be loved in a home, and the cat rescue knows their personalities will then shine. "They have been waiting so long, in fact, all they do is wait," she wrote. "They wait for our volunteers to come play, they wait for visitors to come say hi, and they wait for that one adoption application that will finally come thru for them. All they need is a chance …" Misha (Courtesy of Northport Cat Rescue Association)Both kittens are neutered, have all their shots, are litter box-trained, and micro-chipped and FELV/FIV negative. If you are interested in meeting Robin and Misha, you can head to the Northport Cat Rescue Association website and fill out an application to let them know you would like to meet them or any of the other kittens and cats.
