BROOKLINE, MA — Brookline schools will reopen Tuesday, Jan. 4 after a sudden closure due to a local surge in COVID-19 cases, said Superintendent Linus Guillory in a letter to the school community. Monday's closure will be made up in June through one of the five make-up days allocated at the end of the school year. An updated school calendar will be posted once the last day of school is confirmed. "I am writing to announce that all PSB schools will reopen tomorrow on Tuesday, January 4," said Guillory. "I also want to acknowledge the impact of last night's sudden news and thank you for your flexibility and support after we made the difficult decision to close school for today." School community members are asked to review the important health reminders and notify their school nurse of any illnesses. In addition, the district is looking to increase their pool of substitute teachers. Anyone who is interested is asked to review this flyer for more information.
