BROOKLINE, MA — Somerville Mayor Joe Curtatone has endorsed Rep. Tommy Vitolo in his reelection campaign for the 15th Norfolk House District. Curtatone, who is credited with overseeing the economic revitalization of Somerville, praised Vitolo's leadership in the legislature. "Our accomplishments in Somerville are due in part to forward-thinking legislators like Tommy Vitolo who understand that the rising cost of housing and our expensive and unreliable public transit systems make the dream of living in places like Brookline or Somerville out of reach for many," said Curtatone. "We need Tommy's progressive voice in the State House." Vitolo is currently serving in his second term and is a leading progressive voice in the State House. He is known for his focus on the biggest challenges facing Brookline, including the rising cost of housing, an aging and expensive transportation system, and the climate crisis. "I'm honored by Mayor Curtatone's support, and I am grateful for his leadership on the many challenges facing our cities and towns," said Vitolo in a statement. "The Mayor and I agree that issues like the cost of housing or the unreliable MBTA make it harder to buy a home or get to work – and that has a real cost for communities like ours. As your State Representative, I'm focused on making sure that anyone who wants to build their life in Brookline can."
