WALLINGFORD, CT — With COVID-19 cases surging around the state, Wallingford's high schools are limiting spectators for home athletic events to only immediate family members of rostered athletes, officials announced Monday. The updated home game spectator regulations were announced in a joint message from Lyman Hall Principal Joseph Corso, Sheehan Principal Enzo Zocco, Lyman Hall Athletic Director Steve Baker and Sheehan Athletic Director Chris Dailey. Read more from the message below: As of today, January 3rd, 2022, in order to ensure the health and safety of all our students, staff, and families, we are instituting the following changes to our home game spectator regulation at both on campus and off campus home sites: Only immediate family members of rostered athletes are allowed to attend our home gamesNo visiting team fans will be allowed to attend, except for when Lyman Hall and Sheehan play each other, family members from both teams will be permitted.Masks are required to be worn properly at all times and social distancing guidelines will be followedFamilies should follow social distancing guidelines and stay 6-ft apart from any other group in attendanceMasks need to cover both the nose and the mouthMasks will not be suppliedStandard admission costs for spectators that are permitted to attend do apply We hope these changes are temporary and they will be reviewed weekly by the administration, school health officials, as well as the Wallingford Health Department and will be adjusted as conditions improve and/or potentially worsen. We understand that this is not an ideal situation but our number one goal has been and will continue to be the health of our students, staff, and families.
