BEVERLY, MA — Endicott College is joining a growing list of Massachusetts schools that will require in-person students and staff to have a coronavirus booster shot to be on campus in 2022. The school informed students and faculty this weekend that anyone on campus must receive their booster shot by the start of classes on Jan. 24, or as soon as eligible. Booster eligibility is six months removed from a second Moderna or Pfizer shot, and two months removed from a first Johnson & Johnson shot. Those not yet eligible for a booster must get it within two weeks of when they become eligible. The school said the requirement applies to all those attending classes on the Beverly campus, living in Endicott residence halls, participating in campus life activities, teaching on campus, conducting research on campus or working on campus. Students will need to confirm their booster status starting Jan. 17. The school said students and employees who were granted a vaccination exemption must test regularly and will be required to mask at all times. Non-vaccinated students and staff may also be "excluded from certain campus activities at the college's discretion." The school said no new exemption requests will be accepted. Endicott will adopt the updated Centers for Disease Control and Prevention guidance on isolation and quarantine times for symptomatic and asymptomatic cases for the beginning of the spring semester.
