Coronavirus Case Spike Causes Beverly Christmas Tree Pickup Delay

BEVERLY, MA — It could be just beginning to look a lot like Christmas along the curbs of Beverly. With the regional coronavirus spike causing short-staffing at the city's hauler, JRM, residents were advised on Tuesday that Christmas trees left curbside could be sitting there for up to two more weeks. Residents are asked to leave their trash and recycling out on their regular collection day and it will be picked as soon as possible. "JRM thanks you for your patience during these challenging times," the Beverly Engineering Department said. Danvers alerted its residents of a similar delay on Tuesday. That town was supposed to pick up trees this Saturday, but that has been postponed to Jan. 15 because of staff shortages.
