Nassau PD Lists Most Dangerous Intersections; Glen Cove Makes Cut

GLEN COVE, NY — The Nassau County Police Department has released its list of the 10 intersections with the highest number of crashes, and one road in Glen Cove has made the list. All of the intersections are where local roads meet the Long Island Expressway and its service roads, the NCPD said. And, as the new year begins, police will be stepping up traffic enforcement at these intersections to help reduce the number of crashes. The intersections are: South Oyster Bay Road, Syosset: 129 crashesSearingtown Road, North Hills: 110 crashesSouth Oyster Bay Expressway, Syosset: 100 crashesNorth Broadway, Jericho: 90 crashesSunnyside Boulevard, Woodbury: 78 crashesWillis Avenue, Roslyn Heights: 77 crashesMineola Avenue, Roslyn Heights: 68 crashesJericho Turnpike, Jericho: 64 crashesNorth Hyde Park Road, North Hills: 63 crashesGlen Cove Road, East Hills: 55 crashes In addition to releasing this list and ramping up enforcement, police are giving tips for both drivers and pedestrians to keep them safe.
