Description

Press release from the Middlesex County Chamber: December 30, 2021 Spectrum Art Gallery is looking for images in all mediums that highlight themes of concealment. We all hide things from ourselves and others both emotionally and physically. Nature calls it camouflage. People call it secrets or even privacy. Physically we can use screens, shelters, walls, bunkers, veils and masks, etc. for seclusion and/or protection. Hiding something can be hostile, mischievous , seductive or joyous! So share some secret ideas for your submissions and let's see what happens. Artisans interested in showing in the Gallery Store do not need to follow the theme of Concealment, however, their pieces should reflect the season! For the Artisans Store, we seek work in fabric, leather, glass, wood, pottery and ceramics, jewelry, home décor, puzzles and games, toys, and children's books. We always are interested in starting new relationships with artisans. (In general, submissions to the Store do not need to follow themes of Gallery shows.) In order to properly plan the displays the staff and gallery director know ahead of receiving what is coming into Spectrum so please submit as soon as possible. Submit at least 3-4 samples of your work in jpg form with a title for each piece, materials used, dimensions framed or unframed, and your price point which can be discussed. The size of submissions whether for the store or gallery should be about 1MB so if accepted your images can be used not only in the show but also for print opportunities that will arise. Submit to the gallery director, Barbara Nair: [email protected] Please put "submissions for Concealment show" in the subject line. Receiving is January 16-20, 2022 from 1:00-6:00pm The open house weekend is Saturday, Jan 28 (1:00-6:00pm) and Sunday, Jan 29 (1:00-5:00pm) Closes: March 13, 2022 This press release was produced by the Middlesex County Chamber.
