ELIZABETH, NJ — Baby girl Keyla was born just after stroke of midnight on Jan. 1, 2022 — becoming the first baby born in the new year at Trinitas Regional Medical Center in Elizabeth. Parents Maria and Jose Duchi of Irvington welcomed their New Year's baby at 12:02 a.m. on New Year's Day. Keyla entered the world at 6 pounds and 15 ounces. This baby is also the first baby delivered statewide in 2022, according to a spokeswoman for Trinitas. Resident Dr. Hannah Seltzer delivered the baby at Trinitas.
