Description
TOMS RIVER, NJ — The Ocean County Health Department is expanding COVID-19 testing to five days a week at the Ocean County College test site in Toms River.
The expansion is in response to continued high demand for tests as the omicron variant spreads rapidly in the county and the state. The high demand also has been fueled by testing needs of people who were traveling or are returning to work after the holidays.
The schedule for testing through Friday, Jan. 8 is as follows. Testing is conducted in Parking Lot 3 at OCC.
Tuesday, 11 a.m.-7 p.m.Wednesday, 9 a.m.-5 p.m.Thursday, 11 a.m.-7 p.m.Friday, 9 a.m.-5 p.m. The schedule is weather permitting; on Monday testing was shut down at 2:30 p.m. because of the snow.
Test results will take at least 5 days because of the current volume of tests performed. All test results will be posted on the Immediate Care website only and NOT at www.ochd.org
The OCC site only offers the PCR tests, at no charge with no out-of-pocket expenses. Patients must wear a mask. Insurance information is not required.
