Arlington County Decides On Wednesday Closures, Cancellations

ARLINGTON, VA — All Arlington County government facilities will be open Wednesday for in-person and virtual services. On Tuesday, Arlington Public Schools announced that all of its offices and schools would be closed on Wednesday for a third day in a row due to many county roads still covered with snow from Monday's winter storm. With the except for Long Bridge Aquatics & Fitness Center, Arlington Mill, Lubber Run and Thomas Jefferson Community Centers, all Parks & Recreation indoor facilities will be closed and programs canceled on Wednesday. The four centers mentioned will open at 10 a.m. for drop-in pool and fitness facilities. Lubber Run's administrative office opens at 10 a.m. and the center's preschool will open at 10:30 a.m. Arlington County Courts will be open on Wednesday for in-person and virtual services. COVID-19 Testing Sites & Vaccination Clinics: Vaccination clinics will be open for regular service on Wednesday. Information on the county's testing kiosks is available online. RELATED: Arlington Public Schools: No Winter Break Return On Wednesday Human Services Facilities and Programs will be open on Wednesday for in-person and virtual services. Inspection Services: New construction and field operations will be conducted virtually on Wednesday as scheduled. Code enforcement field inspections are canceled on Wednesday. Parking meters and other parking violations will be enforced on Wednesday. Transportation: Visit ART Alerts for updates and CommuterPage for region's latest transit info. All trash, recycling and organics will be picked up on Wednesday, providing the weather permits, with pickups for those on the regular Wednesday schedule. The week will end with trash collection on Friday for all Friday routes.
