(KUTV 2News) Salt Lake City swore in its most diverse City Council ever, including a majority of the council identifying as members of the LGBTQ community. New council members, particularly representing Salt Lake's most diverse neighborhoods on the west side, cite their lived socio-economic experiences as well in referencing what informs their priorities (i.e. affordable housing) on issues facing residents in their districts. The 76 Trombones in The Music Man can't compare to the 706 animals that Utah's Department of Transportation (UDOT) announced used I-80's Parley's Canyon crossing in 2021. Birds, coyotes, and porcupines were also among the frequent users of the bridge, which opened in 2018 with the purpose to reduce auto and animal collisionsβa solution that seems to be quite effective. The snow could also impact the Wednesday morning commute along the Wasatch Front." Winter and early spring are the toughest times of the year for Utah's big game animals, especially deer.
