The Johnston Police Department welcomes its newest member, Officer Belvo. Mayor Dierenfeld swore him in during the City Council meeting on Monday, Jan. 3.
Officer Belvo was previously with the City of Prairie Village, KS. He is also a Sergeant in the U.S. Army Reserves and serves as a Combat Engineer.
He holds an Associates's degree from DMACC in Criminal Justice. He looks forward to being closer to family and serving the residents of Johnston.
Officer Belvo is a certified police officer and will not have to attend the Iowa Law Enforcement Academy. He has been assigned to patrol and will complete the department's field training program.
