Police Continue 'No Shave' Fundraising In January In Long Valley

LONG VALLEY, NJ — After raising over $2,500 in November and December to help fight pancreatic cancer, Washington Township Police officers are continuing to fundraise in January for Kentucky residents who were devastated by December tornadoes. Their fundraising streak kicking off with "No Shave" November and December, the officers now plan to donate $25 each, keeping their beards that they grew for the last fundraiser, to now raise awareness and monies for those hit by tornadoes in Kentucky. After their fundraiser winds down, PBA 301 will send monies to a Kentucky non-profit group, according to their GoFundMe page, with the funds given directly to impacted residents. With their first fundraiser in November and December, the officers raised $2,520 for the Purple Pansies Organization, in honor of retired Newton Police Officer Michael Monaco, who served for 31 years and was diagnosed with this type of cancer just before his retirement as a lieutenant.
