JERSEY CITY, NJ — The Jersey City Board of Education has tentatively planned its reorganization meeting for Tuesday evening at 6 p.m., both in person and via Zoom. A link to the Zoom details is below, and the direct link to watch it on Facebook is here. At the meeting, the board will address a number of significant changes. The board will do so without youngest member Mussab Ali, 24, who battled cancer last year and is taking classes at Harvard Law School. Ali declined to run again. A graduate of Jersey City schools, Ali looked back on his accomplishments in a recent NJ.com story. Among them, he supported a change in criteria for admission to the highly regarded McNair High School, a magnet school. Board members Marilyn Roman and Joan Terrell Paige have also left, so the board will swear in three new members who recently won re-election. They will also pick a board president.
