CHESTER COUNTY, PA — A Chester County resident became the nation's first lottery-winning millionaire of 2022 when he won a special drawing just moments after the ball dropped in Times Square in New York City. Brian Mineweaser, 49, of Honey Brook, was featured on national television on Dick Clark's New Year's Rockin' Eve with Ryan Seacrest after he was announced as a winner. "It's just so surreal," Mineweaser said, according to the Lottery. "It's amazing to win $1 million. This will help me put my four kids through college." In addition to the $1 million Powerball prize for the ticket, Mineweaser won a $2,022 prize through the Pennsylvania Lottery online drawing, and an "at-home New Year's Eve party package" that included $10,000 cash, entertainment items, and more. Nationwide, 29 lottery jurisdictions participated in the drawing. Other finalists included winners from Illinois, Louisiana, and Iowa.
