ELMHURST, IL — Elmhurst police arrested two Elmhurst residents over the weekend on charges of battery. Here is information from the reports: Margaret M. Ward, 52, of Elmhurst, was arrested at 2:30 a.m. Saturday in the 800 block of South Prospect Avenue on two counts of domestic battery. She was taken to the DuPage County Jail. According to a police report, Ward struck a man while he was asleep on a sofa and asked him to leave the house. The man pushed Ward away, causing an injury, police said. Patrick M. Harken, 52, of Elmhurst, was arrested shortly after midnight Friday at York Street and Park Avenue on a charge of battery. He was released on bond. According to a police report, a man told officers that Harken slapped him in the face. Harken denied the incident took place and any involvement with the other person.
