ELMHURST, IL — In the last few days, Elmhurst police handled domestic disturbances, harassment, stolen catalytic converters, underage drinking and a possible prowler. Here is information from the latest Elmhurst police reports: Disturbances Police responded to a domestic disturbance between 10 a.m. and 10:30 a.m. Saturday in the 400 block of May Street. A woman said her boyfriend grabbed her and struck her. The boyfriend said the woman was the one who grabbed him and struck him. Because of conflicting statements and no visible injuries, no arrests were made. A domestic disturbance took place Saturday in the 800 block of Swain Avenue. A woman said a man pushed her with his index finger. The man denied touching the woman. The woman left the house for the evening. Police responded to disorderly conduct about 6 p.m. Thursday at a house in the 200 block of East South Street. A person is believed to have caused damage to several windows. The case is pending an investigation. Harassment A resident in the 200 block of Addison Avenue told police Sunday that he had received harassing text messages from his ex-girlfriend since late November. An officer called the woman and told her to cease all contact with the resident. A resident in the 100 block of Sunnyside Avenue told police Sunday that a woman continues to post false claims and threats against him on her social media platforms. An investigation is pending. A resident in the 400 block of South Argyle Lane told police Thursday that her ex-boyfriend has been harassing her. She said he has been texting both her personal and work phones about their breakup. An officer spoke with the ex-boyfriend, who agreed to end further contact with her. Stolen converters A catalytic converter was removed from a person's car between 11 a.m. and 4 p.m. Thursday at York High School, 355 St. Charles Road. About 3:30 a.m. Friday, six more were stolen from three box trucks at MedSpeed, 140 Industrial Drive. Heroin user at hospital A woman was found using suspected heroin about 8:30 p.m. Friday in a bathroom at Elmhurst Hospital, 155 E. Brush Hill Road. An officer took possession of the heroin and needles and placed them into evidence. Because of the woman's ailment, she was unable to be taken to the DuPage County Jail. The police plan to seek a warrant. The woman was given a no-trespass notice. Suspicious cars An officer saw two suspicious vehicles, a Jeep Cherokee and a Hyundai Elantra, that were near each other and committing traffic violations about 2:30 a.m. Saturday near Interstate 290 and Lake. The officer tried to pull over the Hyundai, but the driver of the Jeep attempted to interfere by pulling in front of the squad car. The Hyundai's driver sped away from the officer. The officer pulled over the Jeep's driver, Rodney Fluckes, 31, of Chicago, who was cited on a charge of improper lane usage and released. Prowler A resident in the 100 block of Garfield Avenue told police that she saw footprints in the snow at her front door and around her home to the rear sliding glass door. The footprints were made between 10 p.m. Saturday and 7:30 a.m. Sunday. An officer checked the home's exterior and did not see any tampering or damage to the home. Underage drinking Two 18-year-olds, one from Lyons and the other from Western Springs, were cited on charges of consumption of alcohol by a minor about 1 a.m. Saturday. The listed address was 426 N. York St., which is Lariano's Pizza and Italian Beef. Its online menu does not include alcohol. It was unclear where exactly on the property the teens were found. They were released on bond. Warrant Patrick Bellezza, 33, of Downers Grove, was arrested about 8 a.m. Friday at York and Roosevelt on a DuPage County Sheriff's Office warrant. He was taken to the DuPage County Jail. Driving violations Jose Perez, 18, of Berwyn, was cited about 8 a.m. Thursday at Larch and North on charges no valid driver's license, no valid registration, operating an uninsured motor vehicle, speeding and unlawful possession of marijuana by a driver. He was released on bond. Javon Nicholson, 26, of Berwyn, was cited about 10:30 p.m. Thursday at Lake and York on charges of driving with a suspended license, improper window tinting and unlawful possession of marijuana by a driver. He was released on bond. Kevin Valenzuela, 18, of Matteson, was cited about 4:30 p.m. Sunday at North and Illinois on charges of driving with a suspended license, operating an uninsured motor vehicle, possession of marijuana by a driver, speeding and improper window tinting. He was released on bond. Police report information is provided by local police departments. Charges are not evidence of guilt. They are a record of police actions on a given day, and people charged with a crime are presumed innocent until proven guilty in court.
