OAKDALE, MN — Cases of COVID-19 are surging across Minnesota, especially following the holiday break. The new omicron variant spreads more easily than the original SARS-CoV-2 virus strain, prompting many Minnesotans to get tested. The demand for more testing means there are fewer appointments at testing sites across the state. The COVID-19 testing site at the Minneapolis-St. Paul Airport ended walk-in tests due to "crowding," the Minnesota Department of Health announced Monday.
