Press release from the City of Westlake : December 21, 2021 The City of Westlake held a sendoff for its three retiring members of Westlake City Council on Dec. 16 during the last Council Meeting of 2021. Mayor Dennis M. Clough presented Proclamations to the outgoing representatives as family, friends and colleagues looked on. Michael F. Killeen steps down having served on City Council since 1978 and as Council President since 1996. Ward 1 Councilperson Lynda Appel has served on City Council for the past eight years, is a former member of the City's Planning Commission and Recreation Commission and a current member of The Westlake Schools Strategic Planning Committee, Kiwanis and Westlake Historical Society. Ward 5 Councilperson Kenneth Brady has served on City Council since 1992. Brady previously served on the Planning Commission and Charter Review Commission. He is also a past president of the Westshore Chamber of Commerce. The City unveiled bronze plaques for Killeen and Brady commemorating their longevity as members of Westlake City Council.
