Looking for a temporary home for pet bird

Description

I plan to travel to India this March and come back by the end of April. Because of the difficulty in getting visa appointments, I expect some delay; at worse, I may come back by June end. I cannot take my bird with me, and therefore I am looking for a temporary home for my pet bird Chinu. He has been with me for almost three years and is very friendly (a little too much, in fact). You can check out some pictures and videos of him in the dropbox link or youtube playlist link below. He will come with his cage that you see in the picture. The cage is big and has roller wheels. I will clean the cage before handing it over, so you may only have to clean the bottom of the cage once a month. I will also provide food worth three months. If I cannot find a temporary home, I will have to surrender him to Animal Rescue groups. I want to avoid this scenario. Little more about Chinu: Chinu is a friendly, loud, and very energetic bird. He likes to be as much out as possible. If I am around, he prefers to be on my shoulder, under my blanket, or inside my shirt/t-shirt. Whatever I am eating, he needs a bite. He likes to take a bath in the kitchen sink almost every day. He can get loud (Sun Conure are loud birds), especially when his demands are not met. He is a pet that never makes me lonely. About me: I work at the University of Texas at Austin. I have had Chinu as a pet for almost three years. If you want to know more, please ask. Some pros of having Chinu in your house: 1. He is very active, and therefore your house will have a positive vibe. 2. Once he gets to know you, he would like to be very close to you and participate in whatever you do in his ways. 3. Maintenance is almost negligible. You would need to change water and food once a day and clean the cage once a month. 4. If you have wondered about having a bird as a pet, this may allow you to experience it without committing. Some cons: 1. He can be loud. When I want to work, and Chinu gets noisy, I put him in the other room. Having him as a pet might not be a good idea if you have only one room.
