Candidate must have an active CDL-A / DOT medical certification and clean MVR. Need to have at least 3 years driving experience. Will be driving a 2017 Freightliner Cascadia with APU leased from Ryder, cab is in clean condition. This is intercompany work with drop trailers, so no waiting. We have a plant in Southfield MI and one in Spartanburg SC and you will do two roundtrips a week between the plants starting Monday and ending whenever you are done. We have a driver with 11 years seniority who has taken an extended leave of absence due to health reasons and is not expected to return to work for another 4 or so months. If you live in the metro Detroit area, you should be able to spend most nights at home. We have another driver who works only the weekends, departing Friday about 5pm that you'll need to have the truck back for, but other than this your schedule is pretty flexible. Great job for a retiree just looking to make a little extra. It is possible the prior driver could be out for a longer period of time, so there could be more opportunity to continue in the future.
