Scranton, PA – In its 14th year of operation, the South Side Farmers’ Market, run by United
Neighborhood Centers of Northeastern Pennsylvania’s (UNC) is Scranton’s only year-round
farmers’ market. A local source for meats, eggs, breads, produce and more. The Market is open
every Saturday from 10am – 1pm at 509 Cedar Avenue, (the indoor winter location). In May, the
market moves back to its outdoor location on Alder Street.
The South Side Farmers’ Market offers organic produce including a variety of unique fresh
greens, wild and organic mushrooms & foods, pasture-raised eggs, and a large variety of meats
and cheeses at the market all winter long. Bread and baked goods, roasted coffee beans, canned
sauces and salsas and other natural food products are available at the market. The market also has guest vendors selling items from raw honey, desserts, pottery, spices, gifts, wines, plants and more.
The South Side Farmers Market is funded through a Neighborhood Partnership Program grant
with Peoples Security Bank, PNC Bank and PPL Electric.
