Golf course maintenance is the care and improvement of the golf course itself, as well as the features around the course. The maintenance job includes care of the grass on the fairways, greens and roughs. It also includes keeping the bunkers in top shape. You will also have to maintain flowerbeds and shrubs not only on the course, but the grounds as well. Trees must be trimmed and fallen branches removed. Weather can bring all sorts of conditions onto the course, and this must be handled by the maintenance crew. This position also includes maintenance of buildings, bridges, and cart paths. You must perform grounds and building maintenance as directed by Superintendent and Assistant Superintendents. This position reports directly to the Assistant Superintendents.
PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES OF THIS POSITION
Responsible for safely operating grounds maintenance equipment including/but not limited to: golf carts, skidsteer, utility vehicles, aerial lift truck, string trimmers, mowers: tractor, fairway, greens, tee and rough mowers. Operate aerators, seeders, spreaders and any other equipment associated with golf course maintenance.
Use of tools to perform cart and bridge repairs, grounds, structure and facility maintenance and other manual labor as necessary using equipment such as: water hoses, weed eaters, edgers, sprayers, shovels, rakes, hoes, whips, levelers, saws, pruners, trimmers, drills, jack hammer, pressure washer, spreader, auger, tamper, post driver, blowers, chainsaws and any other tools associated with golf course maintenance.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
Must have experience in grounds maintenance and/or light equipment operations or related experience
Ability to work with the public in a professional manner
Ability to work flexible hours including early morning, weekends, overtime and holidays
Knowledge of or the ability to learn the basic rules of golf and golf etiquette
Proof of eligibility to work in the United States
